Designing homes is my passion. When a person or family decides they are ready to build or renovate a home to make it uniquely theirs, I listen to the vision they have and develop a unique plan that incorporates their needs and wants.
Most people move into existing (or production) homes designed by and for someone else. These homes often do not meet the family’s lifestyle or needs. When I work with a customer, I incorporate their ideas, needs, and wants into a plan that they cannot wait to have built and move into. I make recommendations and offer suggestions, but ultimately, this is their home, not mine.
I have designed homes for more than 20 years for clients in North Carolina and parts of the mid-Atlantic region. I believe honesty, integrity, and the ability to listen are critical to being a top notch and successful designer. My goal is to turn ideas into plans that say, “Welcome Home.”
I am a Johnson County native and still call this area home. When I’m not designing homes, I enjoy woodworking, working in the yard, watching The Andy Griffith Show (best show ever!), spending time with my family, and playing golf with my dad.

I have always been curious about the interwoven connections of architecture, technology and the human experience. This passion started as a kid building cardboard forts in my living room and later volunteering to help rebuild homes in hurricane hit areas of North Carolina, Florida, and Mississippi.
To this day, you can find me taking pictures of unusual stuff, like bolting patterns in steel, the way heavy timber trusses are connected together, or mesmerized how the design and lighting of a museum can enhance its experience.
I started my career in Pinehurst, NC in 1996 designing single family homes there and gradually across the state. Later, I had a chance to join an architectural firm in Wilmington, NC and grew in my knowledge of commercial, medical, educational, and historical architecture.
My education includes an AutoCAD certificate, Associates in Architectural Technology, Bachelor’s in Arts and Architecture, Bachelor’s in Architecture, Completion of Intern Development Program, as well as an Associates membership with the American Institute of Architects.
I am happy to be with the DRB team on this journey among the ever-changing world of architecture.

I’ve always been busy building—whether it was furniture, houses, or anything in between. With my grandfather being a builder and my father a furniture maker, building and designing have always been a natural part of my life. While serving in the military, I began to seriously consider what I wanted to pursue after my service. I decided to earn a degree in Architectural Engineering Technology, which taught me the technical aspects of building design and construction. That decision changed everything. Not only could I continue building, but I could also design other people’s dreams and bring their visions to life. Since 1996, I’ve been working as a residential and commercial designer, primarily in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and western Ohio. Every client is unique, with their own vision and goals. Whether it’s designing a single-family home, a renovation of an existing commercial space, or a brand-new building, I take great pride in helping my clients turn their ideas into reality. Thanks to DRB Design, I have the opportunity to continue this meaningful work.
